Started off great.....
20 March 2010
"When I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. The pace was fantastic, the charactors modern and real (none of that cowering female stuff) but then it hit the middle and I'm afraid that for me, it lost its sparkle. The story became too fantastical and mired in greek mythology - the pace picked up and then slowed down. Anyway, overall was a good book but it didn't live up to the first few chapters, almost like two different people wrote it."
The Greek Tycoons Achilles Heel

Review By Christine Grant
"I thought, quite a weak story, disappointing, not one of her best."
"Could not get into this one and subsequently have not finished it. "
"Book started off really good, thought it would be major passionate one! but got really heavy with greek mythology! lost me totally!"
A book of two halves
29 March 2010
"This was very much a book of two halves. It started off well with great dialogue and two feisty leads which immediately drew you in. However halfway through it seemed to lose the sparkle and it was hard to retain interest.
I was delighted to see Mrs Gordon recently ring the changes in moving on from her oftwhile Italian heroes. She writes for the Romance line as well as Modern and overall this book somehow fell between the two stools.
I know romantic fiction has changed greatly in the past couple of decades but Mrs Gordon is one of M&B's best storytellers and the soul hungers for another classic such as Golden Boy or Vengeance Is Mine or Song Of The Lorelei.
Certainly not her best but you'll enjoy the first half.
6 out of 10."
Too different

"Like some of the other reviewers, I found myself bogged down by the mythology and distracted from the storyline. Not really one for me - sorry!"
A good read

"A good read but not enough passion for Modern."
An interesting change
26 April 2010
"I really enjoyed this book, it was very different to what I expected. Lysander was quite a departure from the usual heroes, yeah he was a tycoon but there was a real vulnerability to him. I don't usually like guys who sleep with bored housewives but I couldn't really hold it against Lysander especially when I found out his history.
Petra was a brilliant character she wasn't simpering and waiting for someone to rescue her but combatted her own problems. I loved the way she made Lysander come out of his shell.
The Greek mythology was brilliant, I've personally always been intersted in that aspect of Greek history and I thought it was written very well and the juxtaposition of mythology and modern times was handled brilliantly.
Loved reading it and was nice to see a departure from the usual not that I don't love all Mills and Boons!!!"
