One of my favourite Medical authors this book was something of a disppointment for me.
The plot concerned twin girls one of whom had a serious illness and the other who was just too precocious to be likable.
Jack and Lizzie were personable enough main characters but the subject was rather uncomfortable for light reading - just not my cup of tea.
Six out of ten
Once a Good Girl
An enjoyable enough read with a pleasing heroine Victoria, however I couldn't really take to Kyle who came over as supremely selfish.

Rating"Review of Once A Good Girl ...
The heroine, Victoria Forley, was born with opportunities. Until she gets knocked up as a naive teenager by Kyle Karlinsky, who disappears off the same night and never gets in touch. From then on Victoria was pulling herself up by her bootstraps, trying to be a good single mother to Jake whilst working on re-creating the opportunities and reputation she lost because of the boy she loved and a night that still causes her trauma. Eight years later and she is well on her way to becoming the independent, respected Director of Nursing she has been aiming for. Until Kyle turns up again ...
Wendy S. Marcus has worked hard to enable us to empathise with both the hero and the heroine, and in particular to show the heroine's conflict and heartache that comes with giving up some control when you've worked so hard for it, especially to someone who still doesn't quite come up to scratch. Not yet anyway ...
An interesting supporting cast of patients and colleagues give colour and life to the chapters in the hospital and you feel yourself wanting to get to know them better, so good thing this is a mini-series!
A book that will have reading it from cover to cover and have a satisfied smile on your face when you finish the last page."
